hp notebook 2016
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

hi, I'm a computer noob. I have a hp notebook 2016 with Intel Pentium CPU, I would like to know if is the hardware upgradable especially the cpu and graphics card and if yes, their upgrade limitations too? I'm thinking of upgrading my slow laptop.

Hi:

The only way to upgrade the processor and graphics would be to replace the motherboard with one listed in your specific model notebook's service manual that may come with a better processor and graphics.

Since it has a Pentium processor, you would also need to buy a fan and heat sink for it too.

The cost of doing such an upgrade would cost almost as much as buying a new notebook with the better hardware already included.

Notebooks with Pentium processors only have one memory slot, so you would have to remove the 4 GB memory chip and replace it with an 8 GB memory chip.
