I want to install ssd to replace hdd, I wonder if it will use all the performance of ssd, if I can’t enable ahci mode in BIOS, pci ide is currently displayed in device manager along with hdd, I didn’t find settings anywhere in BIOS how to switch the mode to AHCI, I could not enter the advanced settings, as many recommend f10 + a, how to enable ahci or is it not supported?

Hi, @dankeby
You couldn't change any of the drive controller settings in HP consumer class notebooks for about 15 years now.
The drive controller setting in your notebook is set by default to AHCI.
If your notebook has an AMD processor, some utilities such as the Samsung magician report that the drive controller is not set to AHCI but that is an incorrect reading.
If your notebook has an Intel processor, you can see that the Intel AHCI controller is enabled by going to the device manager, click to expand the IDE/ATA ATAPI Controllers device manager category.
