Hi,
how to check the M2 slot present in my laptop 15-bs540tu is a SATA 3port or PCIe slot so that i can decide to buy a M2 SATA 3 SSD / PCIe NVME SSD.
Can anyone help me with this?

Firstly not all HP 15-bs5xx machines have M.2 slot. You can use the following manual to check
http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c05493257.pdf
The manual says on page 3: machines only have M.2 (if available) SATA 3 options.
