Hi @aman711,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
To enable or disable the touchpad on an HP laptop, you can often use a keyboard shortcut. Here are the steps you can try:
Function Key Combination:
- Look for a function key (F1 through F12) that has an icon resembling a touchpad. On HP laptops, it's often F6 or F9, but it can vary.
- Press and hold the "Fn" key (usually located near the bottom-left corner of the keyboard).
- While holding the "Fn" key, press the function key with the touchpad icon.
Using the Touchpad Toggle:
- Some HP laptops have a dedicated touchpad toggle button above the touchpad itself. It might look like a small button with an icon representing the touchpad.
- Press the touchpad toggle button to enable or disable the touchpad.
Using HP Hotkey Support:
- Check if your laptop has HP Hotkey Support software installed. This software may provide additional options for managing the touchpad.
- If it's installed, you can look for the HP Hotkey Support icon in the system tray (notification area) and see if there are touchpad options available.
Check Mouse Settings in Windows:
- Open the "Settings" app in Windows (you can press Win + I).
- Go to "Devices" and then select "Touchpad" from the left menu.
- You might find an option to toggle the touchpad on or off.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
