kid had a spill onto open laptop keyboard. Need to check keyboard. have taken apart but still can't get to keyboard. metal plate covers, some keys stick and may have to replace or use external keyboard. It has a touch screen

Hi,
The keyboard comes as one part with the top cover and touchpad. If you look on page 55 of service manual you can see the various colours and country code (for keyboard layout). You can use this part number online to try to find the part. To replace the top cover you need to basically remove everything from the PC and then place in new top cover.(page 56 service manual)

Now it is also possible to find the keyboard by itself (compatible product)
Example:
This would not be an official fix, however it can be done. You will need, once removed everything from PC, break the old keyboard from top cover, this usually means that you will need to cut the rivots which are holding the keyboard in place and fix the new keyboard to the top cover using any rivots which you where able to pry loose and some strong glue.
