Got a BIOS update notice from HP, so decided to do it.  Update d/l'd and proceeded normally, up to 6%, then hung up.  I was able to do a hard shut-down, then use the Windows key+B key to restore the old BIOS settings and get running.  Upon the reboot, though, the BIOS update started again, which I cancelled before it timed out.  Things were fine for a couple days until I installed new Windows updates and needed a reboot.  When I did, the **bleep** BIOS update started again, with no option to cancel it, and, again, it hung, though it got to 35% before doing so.  At this stage, I'm done with trying to update the BIOS and just want to stop this from happening every time I reboot my system.  Since I'm out of warranty, HP doesn't want to talk to me to help me fix a problem that THEY created by releasing such a crappy utility, unless I pay them an exhorbitant amount of money (frankly, $0.01 is too much to pay for a problem THEY created).  Any of you out there got a way to stop this **bleep** update from starting every time I reboot my system?  Thanks!

And how does knowing the beep codes help me, exactly?  I need to STOP the BIOS update from running when I restart the system.
