Please be so kind to advice within my case. I've read about 50+ topics here and still did not find the answer.

Main question is related to maximum SSD volume my Laptop can run on. Second - about RAM specs.

Due to the Maintenance and Service Guide it is stated that my Laptop (6gen Intel Core version) supports several highest possible storage combinations speaking about volume:

  • single HDD = 1TB
  • single M.2 SATA-3 (value) = 256 GB
  • single M.2 SATA-3 (TLC) = 512 GB
  • dual storage = 256 GB M.2 SATA-3 (value) + 1TB HDD

As you can see using solo storage configurations I can maximum have 512 GB (TLC) through M.2 SATA-3 slot or use 1TB HDD through regular 2.5 SATA-3.

I want to remove HDD and put SSD instead into 2.5 SATA-3... I saw people here say 1TB SSD can be used instead of HDD. Can I use more like 2Tb? I'm asking because it's not listed in the Maintenance and Service Guide that 1Tb SSD can be used within 2.5 SATA-3 instead of HDD.

Or whether it is possible to use "dual storage" combination with 2xSSDs instead of SSD+HDD? Is it possible to use 512 GB M.2 SATA-3 (TLC) + 1TB 2.5 SATA-3 ? Or maybe even more volume...

Speaking about RAM, did I get it right that the fastest supported is DDR4 PC4-2400?

Big thanks in advance and sorry for being still here with this Laptop in 2024 - want to upgrade this one since the CPU seems not to be the worst - should deal with surfing and office work.
Thank you for long read!

What is your hp 14-bs0xx machine ? You said your machine has Intel Core processor therefore

1. STORAGE: It supports dual storage wiath M.2 SATA 3 SSD + 2.5" SATA 3 HDD/SSD. You can use M.2 SATA SSD up to 2TB. You can also replace existing HDD using 2TB 2.5" SSD or upgrade to 2TB M.2 SSD + 2TB 2.5" SSD.

2. RAM: You can upgrade to 16GB (2 x 8GB).

Regards.

Dear Banhien,

Thank you for your prompt reply and being here with me!

My CPU is “i3-6006U“.

2Tb M.2 SSD + 2Tb 2.5 SSD - sounds really nice! Could you please expand on the origin of this data? I mean, whether it’s personal XP or official data.

I’m a little bit frustrated since the data provided in Maintenance and Service Guide for this Laptop differs or I might got something wrong there.

Speaking about RAM - 2x8GB PC-2400, not higher MHz?

Big thanks for your support and have a nice day there! ❤️
