hi there

               i am currently using hp 15 bs1xx as my daily driver with 1 tb hdd as primary storage. as the installed hdd is not fast enough i would like to upgrade my laptop by adding Intel optane but i am not sure with the compatibility of my laptop motherboard and the bios. i can clearly see the M.2 port in the motherboard but i am not sure about the compatibility of the bios. the windows 10 running in version number 1909. with a ram of 16 gigs and equipped with 8205u  i5 processor 

 help me with this problem 🙂

Hi.

Because the M2 slot in your notebook only supports M2 SATA3 and not M2 PCIe

Intel Optane needs an M2 PCIe slot to function.

Hi,

No, it is not possible to install Optane.

The M2 slot supports only M2 SATA3 SSD such as the M2 SAMSUNG 860 EVO or similar. It will give a great boost to the notebook.

You can then install Windows 10 on the SSD.

my biggest question is why can't it support intel optane since its in m.2 form factor like the prescribed m.2 ssd like Samsung evo is it something to deal with the bios setting or other reason
