Hello,

I'm thinking of buying an HP Laptop 16t-cd000 that is on sale right now and am interested in adding a 2.5 in. drive. Google AI says that I can add one, that I need the bracket and cable. But on the website Drivesolutions.com the hp 16t-cd000 is not listed as a valid laptop for upgrade, maybe is new model, just need to know if I can add the 2.5in SSD to the supposed empty bay on hp 16t-cd000.

Thanks

@HR43,

You can find the service guide from the support home page for 16-cd0000 series.

HP OmniBook 5 16 inch Laptop Next Gen AI PC 16-cd0000 IDS Base Model - Setup and User Guides | HP® S...

Page 2 of the service guide indicates that supported storage drives are M.2 NVMe SSDs (no 2.5" drives supported). An illustration on page 32 shows the motherboard and its hardware components. You'll see no empty 2.5" drive bay.

Since 16t-cd000 is custom order version of 16-cd0000, you may purchase an M.2 NVMe SSD of a capacity you need.
