HP 17-cn0053 with 1 TB HDD internal. Want to replace the HDD with a 1 TB SSD. Before I open up the machine, is there a SSD slot? (or only a SATA HDD connector?)
If the HDD is SATA and there is a SSD slot, then I can clone externally with a cable. If both SATA and SSD, I can clone internally. If only SATA, I'm up a creek.
The HP "teardown" video shows only the SSD slot and apparently assumes all 17-cn00 devices have SSD.
Thanks for any direction.

Hi:
HP only has the service manual for the 17-cn1xxx model series. Your notebook is very similar.
Maintenance and Service Guide (hp.com)
According to chapter 1 your notebook does have a M.2 slot that supports NVMe SSD's.
And here is the service teardown video for the model series.
Removing & Replacing Parts | HP 17-cn0xxx Laptop | HP Computer Service | @HPSupport - YouTube
At minute 4:26, it shows how to remove and replace the M.2 SSD.
At minute 6:30, it shows the procedure to remove and replace the 2.5" hard drive.
