Good afternoon. I have (hp 4540 C4Z10EA), the motherboard is 17F6 KBC Version 58.21, Intel (R) Core (TM) i5-3210M CPU @ 2.50GHz. Type of SO-DIMM.
Type of memory DDR3 SDRAM. 4gb
DDR3-1600 (800 MHz) memory speed. I want to install a better processor and RAM. Is it possible to install Intel® Core ™ i7 and which one? What can you advise? Thanks you.;)))

Here's the Service Manual
Yes the processor is socketed and you could replace your i5-3210M with either of these i7 CPUs:
Intel Core i7 processor, Quad Core 3632QM, 2.2-GHz processor with 6-MB L3 cache 701658-001
3612QM, 2.1-GHz processor with 6-MB L3 cache 680647-001
Max memory is 8 gigs DDR3-1600 SO-DIMM 1.5v but Quad Cores are known to be able to use 2 x 8 = 16 gigs.
You might also consider a solid state drive if you want to improve performance. I might hesitate to invest a lot of money in a laptop that is on the verge of being obsolete.
