webcams can and do go bad. It is generally a pretty easy and inexpensive procedure to replace it. Post back if you want help with that.

Your notebook is not supported by HP for W10.

 

If the webcam was working fine before you upgraded from W7 to W10, see if installing the W10 HP universal webcam driver from the link below gets the webcam to work again.

Hi:

 

The only other suggestion I can offer would be to try the Windows 8.1 webcam driver directly from Realtek.

 

Download, unzip and run the setup application.

 

PC Camera Controller > USB 2.0 Interface Software - REALTEK

 

Another thing you can try if you have not done so already, would be to install the W10 version of the Cyberlink YouCam software.

If that doesn't work, and you must have a webcam, I recommend you go back to using W7 until you can replace the notebook with a newer model.

Look in Device Manager. If it is a driver problem you will likely have an unknown device. If not and nothing is there that looks like a webcam, then it is likely dead. Did it ever work under Windows 10?
