Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Dear sir/madam,

 

I Have HP 630 core i3 380M. I would like upgrade the processor to core i5 or if possible i7. Which processor would you recommend in this case for this notebook?

Hi:

 

The HP quickspecs for that model indicate that only the i3-380M was offered as a supported processor for the notebooks with the Mobile Intel® HM55 Express Chipset.

 

HP 630 Notebook PC (billiger.com)

 

So, installing any Intel 1st gen dual core processor other than the one you have now would be a complete experiment.

 

You can experiment with one of these and hope it works...

 

Intel Core i7-620M

 

Intel Core i5-520M

 

Here is a comparison of your processor's specs and the other two.
