the laptop currently has 4gigs i want to add a 8gig in addition. will it support each other??? please provide me with a link of the ram which does.

Yes, you can use a 8GB stick with the 4GB stick. No problem.

I checked the specifications of your computer and see that your computer does support 12GB RAM.

 

Below are the details on the RAM supported on your computer.

 

DDR3L-1600 MHz dual channel support

 

12GB (8GB×1+ 4GB×1; not supported on computer models with a 32-bit operating system)

Hi,

Your PC will support max 16GB of DDR3L 1600Mhz (2x8GB)

There are two slots and at the moment you have one stick of 4GB and one empty slot.

Yes, you can add a 8GB stick of DDR3L 1600Mhz from your preferred brand such as Crucial, Corsair....

 

On page 116 of service manual you can see the steps to upgrade RAM, which is not so easy in your notebook, as you need to remove the motherboard to get to the RAM slots.

thanks david that was very helpful. i just wanted to know that is it okay to use 2 unequal capacity ram(4+8) like performance wise.
