I was looking at 2x4gb ddr3-1600 upgrade. Would this work? (Crucial is the company).
Also, which BD drive replacement would work?

What processor does it use? I was pretty sure the dv4t-1500 series uses DDR2-800 SO-DIMM and will run 8 gb but 4 gb modules of DDR2 are pretty pricey such that 8 gb of memory may cost more than the laptop is worth.
The part number of the BD-ROM is 482181-001 its a 12.7 mm tray load
Can't find the part but you can get a standard OEM drive like this:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/400632001438?hash=item5d4787339e:g:Ct4AAOxyiBpSKYFv
And swap over your faceplate and bezel. Could also use a BD-RW drive.
Post back with any more questions and please accept as solution if this is the info you needed.
