I would like to upgrade my 8gb ram to 16gb. Is this possible on the elitebook folio 1040 G2 (H9W04EA#ABU)? If yes can you please let me know what and where to buy from. Thanks!

16 gb is not possible. There is one slot and 4 gb soldered to the motherboard. In fact it says a 4gb module is maximum when combined with the 4 gb onboard. That is likely what you have. I would bet an 8 gb module of DDR3L-1600 would work to give you 12gb but can't guarantee that.
