hp envy 13 ba0010na hinge issue

My HP Envy hinge appears to be coming off slightly. Its very tight to maneuvre open/shut. The hinge splits on one side and it closes asymmetrically.

I can push the split part of hinge together and align it, but it recurs everytime I open/close. I worry this is going to come off completely at some point.

I understand my product is out of warranty, but for a product that cost me >£1300, this is sub-optimal and is undeniably below expected quality. I would expect HP to fix it regardless of warranty period or provide me with a refund. The laptop is working fine, at the moment.  But I expect it to fall apart completely in another few open/shut cycles of the lid/screen.

Same laptop, same problem, right hinge broke after 15 months. No help from online support, just dragged it out for 3 weeks. Very frustrating and disappointing.
