The battery for my hp envy ts 15 notebook won't hold a charge. It works fine when connected to the charger but when taken off, will shut down. I've ran a battery test through the HP support assistant and ran a components test. Each one states the battery is ok. But whenever I take it off the charger the battery, which states its at a decent charge, the laptop will instantly die. I also checked the battery number and it is not apart of the recall.

After three years? No. Even on the extended warranty plan the battery is generally covered for one year. Some store extended warranty programs do cover replacement batteries but the longest of those I have seen are three years. Batteries are not too expensive, by the way. Like tires on a car, you can only stretch the life so far and it has to be replaced. Post back with your country of residence and we can help you find a good price on a replacement battery. On a 3 year old laptop I might consider getting a "compatible" third party battery and those are very reasonably priced. Even a genuine HP can be found for much less than HP Store prices which are usually $80-120.
