hello,
I spilled water on my keyboard and was wondering if there was an easy way to replace the front panel of this laptop as some keys no longer work. I fear I may have to work in from the back of the laptop removing almost all of its components and I'd rather not do that.
I saw videos of other envy models' front panels getting removed, but they looked a lottle different than the m6-aq103dx.
I would like to know if it is possible just to remove the front panel (keyboard and touchpad) alone.
hp wanted over $400 for the repair and Id rather attempt a repair myself than giving them more than half of the original cost of the laptop.
thanks!

Firstly please check the following which part or parts you need
http://partsurfer.hp.com/Search.aspx?searchText=W2K45UA
Also check the following manual (same as your machine) to see you can do it yourself or not
http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c05098448.pdf
My suggestion: go to an authorized repairer in your are and they can fix for you.
Regards.

Update,
I ordered a replacement top cover with the keyboard attached from a used parts store and successfully did the replacement myself.
Here are some things I noticed.
-I did have to take out almost every component of the laptop to replace the top panel.
-The top panel is riveted to the keyboard so if you need a keyboard replacement, I recommend that you order the entire top panel with a keyboard, not just a keyboard. (Someone might try to scam you by selling just the keyboard)
-This repair was pretty easy with the help of the service manual.
-The fact that HP wanted $400 for this is rediculous.
