I have hp envy x360 convertible 15m-bp111dx. The bottom base cover has separated on one side, The clips are all intact but it seems there's something inside that is too big for the base to stay. Clipped. The entire bottom is not level, When I close the laptop , it does not close flat, the entire keyboard area is not flat, it really does look like something inside the base is too big.
This laptop has been very lightly used over the years that I've had it, in fact It was unused and left in its original box for 3 years in the top of my closet until I needed it.
The quality of this laptop is really bad. I've had many other laptops that I've kept for years. I still have one that's over a decade old, the case is still in pristine condition! This is a manufacturing problem, I came to the forum to see if there was a way to fix this. Then I ran across this link. I don't know if the internal battery is too big for the case that it's in... But there is definitely something in inside that is causing the entire laptop to be "lumpy" / not level.
Because the laptop went unused and unopened for 3 years, it works excellently... It's just the case that is very poor quality! I have to say this laptop has never been misused, it's never been dropped. It's always been in a laptop drawer underneath my desk when not in use. There's no reason it should be like this. A year ago, I had to use vinyl decals to tape the side together to prevent hair or anything else from getting inside and it's definitely not flat. HELP!

Hello.
I recommend removing the battery immediately. It doesn't fit in its compartment anymore se there is a risk that it will break something if it balloons any further.
Your laptop will work without a battery, but you need to be plugged in when using it.
The Maintenance and Service Guide shows how to remove and replace the battery.
