The specs of your machine is

                 https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c05856217

You can add 2.5" HDD (new or old) to your new machine but you need following parts first

  • The hard drive bracket is available using spare part number 924350-001.
  • The hard drive cable is available using spare part number 924326-001

You can buy parts from

Hi,

Thank you for your reply.

I've bought both  the parts you mentioned in your post below and decided to give it ago but unfortunatley when I connect the hdd up to the laptop it's not detecting it. Is there anything i need to enable in the bios? . The hdd is in good working worder as i hooked it up to a usb adapter and it reads well.

Thanks
