Hi,
I recently threw out an old HP laptop but kept the hardrive , a 2.5" sata internal hardrive with 300g of memory, will this work in my current laptop , the hard drive is dated 2009 , My current Laptop is a HP Envy x360 15-bq101na ,250gb.

You can add 2.5" HDD (new or old) to your new machine but you need following parts first
- The hard drive bracket is available using spare part number 924350-001.
- The hard drive cable is available using spare part number 924326-001
You can buy parts from

Hi,
Thank you for your reply.
I've bought both the parts you mentioned in your post below and decided to give it ago but unfortunatley when I connect the hdd up to the laptop it's not detecting it. Is there anything i need to enable in the bios? . The hdd is in good working worder as i hooked it up to a usb adapter and it reads well.

Is it a bootable HDD ? if yes, pleas re initialize it and put back. It is a very old HDD do you know what is it (model, vendor).
