hp folio 1040 g2
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

this is my first post.
after replacing the m2 disk in bios the old one is visible.
there was a 256gb samsung disk in the laptop, I changed to 512gb, I can't install the system. in bios in system information, 256 gb is still visible. I uploaded an older version of the bios 01.14 it did not help, I updated to the latest 1.19 and it did not help either.

Did you disconnect the AC adapter, primary battery and the CMOS battery? And if so did you hold down the power button for 15-20 seconds afterwards to remove residual power from the motherboard?

that's exactly what i did. it is strange that in the information tab you can see the old disk: its name, model, software version, even its serial number. I have been repairing laptops for a long time, but this is the case for the first time.

Ok just checking to see if the basics were covered. Over my head, too.

edit- Did you try HP's USB UEFI software?

thx for help. what exactly do you mean by: hp usb uefi ?

maybe some link?

Use the model number to get to HP's driver page for that laptop and look for the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI

edit- I saw it mentioned recently and can't seem to find the USB part, so unsure about that part

and this. this is what I tested. all tests ok except disk. when I click hard chech I have a message not supported. and in bios, when i click on secure erase, i have not inserted error. it is strange that the installer in n 10 sees a new disk, allows you to create partitions but then does not boot from it.

I will go to sleep maybe I can think of something. I'll be talking. thx for help
