just got a 17-bs0xx laptop. it has a i3-7100u and 8 gb ram. want to upgrade to quad core and more ram?
basically looking for ways to have more speed.

Thank you for the additional information, @revmata3. For future reference, please don't provide the Serial # or other personal information in your posts.
Here is the Maintenance and Service Guide for the laptop. If you look at the section titled "Removal and replacement procedures for Authorized Service Provider parts", in the left-hand column, you will see that there is no mention of the Processor/Microprocessor. This means that it is not upgradable once the computer has been purchased. However, here is the memory that is recommended by Crucial Memory. Also, another option to increase system performance would be to add a SSD. You can look at the ones that are recommended by Crucial in the link that I provided. Crucial makes very good products. If you need further help you can contact their Tech Support. They have always been very helpful.
