hp pavilion 15 - ec0013dx

I want to replace the motherboard in my hp pavilion 15 - ec0013dx because a screw came out and fried the motherboard. The service manual says that part numbers

L71932-xx1

L71930-xx1

L71931-xX1

L71929-XX1

L71928-XX1

will fit inside the chassis but will upgrading my motherboard from a L71928-XX1 to a better version work? I haven’t found any info online.
I know I need to upgrade the cooler as well but that’s not an issue for me.

Hi @Knightslayer117

if that is your motherboard, you just need to find out if you want the motherboard with integrated windows or without windows.

L71928-001 ( out windows ) and L71928-601 (with windows)

How do I find that out is it labeled on the motherboard somewhere?

I don't think I understand your question, there is no part number on the motherboard.

Enter the following link and type your serial number to see what motherboard you have, but if you buy the stick without windows you must buy the license.

HP PartSurfer

My motherboard doesn’t have an OS on it but I was wondering if I would be able to put the motherboard with part number

L91092-001

in my laptop instead of the original part number

L71928-001

Yes you can, but you have verified that you have to change the motherboard, memory and heat sinks and probably an AC charger, see well the accounts because then it is probably more recommendable to buy a new laptop with a one year warranty and more modern.
