Hi!
I am having trouble charging my laptop. The charger is plugged in, but it is not charging. I tried several solutions that I found on this forum (uninstall ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery, update BIOS, reinstall windows). I have done two battery checks, one saying that my battery is functioning correctly but it's weak due to normal aging, and one saying that it is not functioning correctly.
My next step would be to change the battery, but before I do that I want to be sure that I tried everything else. Do you have any other suggestions?
Thanks!

Hi! @mirto93,
Have you tried charging your laptop using a different adapter or battery?
Were there any recent windows update on the PC?
Please share the product number of the PC to assist you better.
Run Power Troubleshooter.
On Cortana, enter Troubleshooter then select Troubleshooting.
Click Improve power usage to open the window, then click Next.
This should run the troubleshooter, and can fix any detected issues. You may try restarting your computer and charge your battery again.
Also, Try performing a hard reset on your laptop and check if it helps.
-
Turn off the computer.
-
Remove the computer from any port replicator or docking station.
-
Disconnect all external connected peripheral devices such as USB storage devices, external displays, and printers.
-
Unplug the AC adapter from the computer.
-
Remove the battery from the battery compartment.
-
With the battery and power cord unplugged, press and hold the Power button for about 15 seconds to drain any residual electrical charge from the capacitors.
-
Insert the battery and plug the AC adapter back into the laptop, but do not connect any of the peripheral devices.
-
Press the Power button to turn on the computer.
The computer starts normally or a startup menu opens.
NOTE:
If your computer does not start after pressing the Power button, then a power reset did not resolve the startup issue. SeeAdditional resources for further troubleshooting steps.
-
If a startup menu opens, use the arrow keys to select Start Windows Normally, and then press the Enter key.
Lastly, try running a battery test from the HP support assistant.

Hi @A4Apollo
I tried everything you said except changing the battery.
But I now noticed that when the battery drops bellow 25% my laptop shuts down instantly and when I turn it back on the battery is at 0%. So it seems like the battery is the problem.

Thanks for the update.
If you have tried all the steps recommended, it could be an issue with the DC port (Charging port) or battery.
