Go the the below site and enter your serial number
https://partsurfer.hp.com/partsurfer/

Look for the part you need such as fan, cable, battery etc

I suspect you will find a 9.5mm  2.5inch HDD

If you put in a 7mm SSD it may be loose. You can tape it or get a kit to fit 7mm in a 9.5mm

I do not know what size disk you are wanting to buy.  If the drive is 2TB or larger in size then there might be a problem.

If your current windows boot drive is MBR then it cannot EASILY be replaced with a 2TB or larger drive.  You will have to convert it to a GPT partition.

Check your boot drive. It is probably numbered "0".  If it is GPT then you can clone your existing drive to the new one with no worry.

To determine if you have a GPT or MBR bring up the Disk Management tool
Enter "Create and format" in the windows search bar

Select the Disk # that you want to check (usually Disk 0), then click on Properties, and it will open a new window. Go to the 'Volumes' tab and there you will find Disk Information. There you will see if your Partition Style is MBR (Master Boot Record) or GT (GUID Partition Table).

The below shows that my boot dive is GPT. If it was MBR then I would be unable to clone it to a 2 TB or larger SSD.

There are ways to replace an MBR drive with a GPT one.  Let me know if you need that info.
