Pavilion dv7-1160ep
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello, I'm upgrading my old, but still very functional, 17" pavilion dv7-1160ep!

I've decided on a SDD and would like to upgrade its memory too.

But, but I don't know if I can upgrade its memory? Currently it states 4GB.

And which specific memory should I buy?

Thank you for the help you can give!

Kind Regards

@HGoncalves

I can't find its Official specs now, only

Crucial says it supports 8GB of DDR2 RAM but it does NOT sell 4GB DDR2 RAM on one piece

For storage, you can use standard 2.5" on market today or from above link.

Please note, you may need a spacer because nearly all 2.5" SSD's are thinner than the old 2.5" HDD's (I know Crucial supplies it in the box, Samsung, SanDisk ... don't).

Regards.

@Banhien Thank you for the help.

As to what the memory is concerned, it seems it will have to stay that way. A friend raised the question about the SDD temperature being higher that the old disk, and that it may cause problems to the computer? Can you advise about the disk changing upgrade?
