pavilion dv9500
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I am planning to install an ssd in my old hp pavilion dv9500 notebook computer (core2 duo, win 10 - 64bit). I cannot find any option in BIOS setup for UEFL mode. Would it be possible to use the ssd in GPT mode in this computer, if BIOS is updated to the latest version? I could not find BIOS update for this machine on HP support website. Can anybody please provide a link to the latest BIOS update for the notebook? Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Hi:

Your notebook has a legacy BIOS and no BIOS update will add UEFI support.

Here is the latest BIOS update that HP release for dv9500 notebooks with the Intel processors.

It was written to be run on Windows Vista, so run the update on W10 at your own risk.
