Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Good afternoon. I want to upgrade my Wifi card but I can't find if there are any hardware restrictions. For example, I want to install Realtek WiFi 5 Dual Band RTL8822CE Mini PCI Express. Will I be able to install it? USB doesn't suit me because I'm constantly on the go and I can either break it or lose it somewhere.

Hi:

Yes, your notebook has a BIOS whitelist which blocks the installation of any other model Wi-Fi card other than the one that HP installed in your notebook.

Unfortunately, due to the whitelist, the RTL8822CE HMC card will not work.

Your only option for dual band Wi-Fi would be to use a dual band USB Wi-Fi adapter.

If your notebook doesn't have Bluetooth, you may be interested in a USB Wi-Fi adapter such as this one:

HAL WiFi Bluetooth USB Adapter for PC, Wireless Dongle 600mbps Dual Band 2.4G/5.8G USB Bluetooth Ada...

It has a pretty small profile too.

I use this model for one of my HP desktop PC's that has no wireless option.
