Hi i own a hp pavilion g6 g6-1287 sl notebook and i need to change the uppercase.

I was wondering if all the g6 series laptops components are the same.

Not all of them. Can we maybe have your full model number and we can tell you the part you need and then figure out what other models those same parts may fit.

See pages 20-22 for part numbers based on language of keyboard and color of the case.

For use in Italy, Black 636376-061

For use in Charcoal Grey computer models 641289-001

If you do not care about language or color any of the listed parts would fit and work. Get your replacement parts using the HP Part number as the search, not the laptop model. You will get much more accurate results.

I have one more question though.

I have seen on the web that the upper case model 641289-001 is exactly the same as 646384-001.

Can i buy one instead of the other one?

If the part is not listed in the Manual I linked you are on your own. They may look the same but have subtle differences. All I can go on is the Manual. Nobody on earth will have tried to swap out all conceivable combinations of parts and I certainly have not.
