What is your 15-ec2xxx machine ? For example

 

                 HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop 15-ec2121nr       

 

1. RAM :  It probably has 8 GB DDR4-3200 MHz RAM (1 x 8 GB)  now. You can use SAME existing RAM for slot 2 or

        Crucial 8GB DDR4 3200

 

2. SSD: You can use

       1TB Crucial M.2 SSD   or

       2TB Crucial M.2 SSD
