Hi:

Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook.

HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop Maintenance and Service GuideIMPORTANT! This document is intended for HP a...

Chapter 1 has the memory upgrade information.  The memory speed is dependent on what model processor your notebook has.  I can't find any specs on your model.

DDR4-2666 dual channel support (8750H/8300H processors)
DDR4-2400 dual channel support (8550U/8250U processors)
Supports up to 16 GB of system RAM.

If you want to see if you can install more than 2 x 8 GB of memory, you can run this command to see if that would be possible:

1. In the search box, search for cmd and click Run as administrator.

This will open the command prompt.

2. After the command prompt is opened, type wmic memphysical get maxcapacityEx and hit enter.

There, it will show the maximum RAM capacity your PC's motherboard can support.

The capacity is shown as Kilobytes, so you have to convert it to Gigabytes by dividing the number provided in the report by 1,048,576.

I have an Intel Core i7-8750H 2.20GHz and by doing the cmd command it showed me that the laptop supports 33554432 Kilobytes or 32GB of RAM meaning 2* 16GB RAM sticks so which one is it? also, do you know where I can buy good genuine RAM sticks?

HP uses memory from many different manufacturers, so I don't know where you can get 16 GB chips from the same manufacturer of the memory that is installed now.

Just find a compatible 16 GB DDR4-2666, 1Rx8, CL19 memory chip or a 16 GB DDR4 1Rx8, CL22 memory chip.

32 GB is the max the notebook can support which means 2 x 16 GB, not 2 x 32 GB.

If you want my opinion of a memory chip you select before you buy it, you can post the link to it.

It checks all of the specification requirements boxes, so hopefully it should work just fine.

Hi:

I'm doing fine and I hope you are too.

I'm seeing a CL15 timing spec on that memory?

If so, I don't believe that will work.

The DDR4-2666 MHz memory HP installed in your notebook would be CL19.

Run the free utility that I zipped up and attached below to get the memory specifications HP installed in your notebook.

Those are the specs you will need to use.
