Hi @Tsail,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

To set up the HP Rechargeable MPP 2.0 Tilt Pen with your HP ENVY Notebook - 17t, follow these steps.

Charge the Pen:

  • Locate the Charging Port: The HP Rechargeable MPP 2.0 Tilt Pen has a USB-C charging port.
  • Charge the Pen: Use the included USB-C cable to connect the pen to a USB-C charger or port. Charge it fully before use.

Pair the Pen:

  1. Turn on Bluetooth: Make sure Bluetooth is enabled on your HP ENVY Notebook - 17t.
  2. Open the Settings App: Go to Settings > Devices > Bluetooth & other devices.
  3. Add a Device: Click on Add Bluetooth or other device and select Bluetooth.
  4. Pair the Pen: Press and hold the Bluetooth button on the pen (usually located on the side or top) until the LED starts flashing. The pen should appear in the list of available devices. Click on it to pair.

Install HP Pen Control Software (if needed):

  • Download Software: Go to the HP Support website and download any necessary drivers or software for the pen, if available.
  • Install and Configure: Follow the instructions provided by the software to configure the pen settings.

Test the Pen:

  • Open a Drawing or Note-Taking Application: Use applications like Microsoft OneNote or any drawing software to test the pen's functionality.
  • Check for Tilt and Pressure Sensitivity: The HP Rechargeable MPP 2.0 Tilt Pen supports tilt and pressure sensitivity, which means it can detect the angle and pressure applied while writing or drawing.

What Does the HP Rechargeable MPP 2.0 Tilt Pen Do?

  • Pressure Sensitivity: The pen can detect different levels of pressure, making it ideal for drawing and writing with varying stroke thickness.
  • Tilt Functionality: It supports tilt input, which allows for more natural shading and brush effects when drawing.
  • Rechargeable: Unlike disposable batteries, this pen has a rechargeable battery, which you can charge via USB-C.
  • Customizable Buttons: The pen may have programmable buttons that you can customize for shortcuts or specific functions.

With these features, the HP Rechargeable MPP 2.0 Tilt Pen is designed to enhance your creative and productivity tasks, providing a more natural and versatile writing or drawing experience.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Thank you Alden4

I have charged the pen but do not see any pairing button.  I have opened settings and started the Bluetooth pairing section in settings but it cannot "see" the pen.  There are only two buttons on the pen beside each other near the tip - no indication that they are pairing buttons.  The top moves up and down to allow access to the charging port but doesn't "turn the pairing on" and the other two buttons don't seem to turn the pairing on either.  Any suggestions? No documentation anywhere!?

Thank you

Hi @Tsail,

Thank you for your response,

Here's how you can typically pair this pen with your device.

Steps to Pair Your HP Rechargeable MPP 2.0 Tilt Pen:

Turn on the Pen:

  • Press and hold both of the buttons near the tip of the pen (the barrel buttons) simultaneously for about 5-7 seconds. This should activate the pen's pairing mode, and an LED light on the pen might start blinking to indicate that it's in pairing mode.

Activate Bluetooth on Your Device:

  • On your laptop or tablet, go to Settings > Devices > Bluetooth & other devices.
  • Ensure Bluetooth is turned on.

Pair the Pen:

  • After a few seconds, your pen should appear in the list of available devices. It might be listed as "HP Tilt Pen" or something similar.
  • Select the pen from the list, and the pairing process should complete.

Test the Pen:

  • Once paired, you should be able to use the pen for drawing, writing, and interacting with your device. Test it on your device to ensure it’s working correctly.

Troubleshooting Tips:

  • Ensure the Pen is Charged: Although you mentioned that the pen is charged, make sure it has been charged for at least 30 minutes before trying to pair it again.
  • Reset the Pen: If the pen isn't pairing, try resetting it by pressing and holding the top button (if available) and the barrel buttons simultaneously for about 10 seconds, then attempt the pairing process again.
  • Check for Updates: Ensure your device’s firmware and drivers are up to date. Sometimes, outdated software can cause pairing issues.
  • Bluetooth Interference: Ensure there are no other active Bluetooth devices around that might interfere with the pairing process.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
