Sometimes completely at random it freezes and it’s then unusable for a a minute and then it works again. It’s completely at random and I haven’t been able to identify what causes it or recreate it.
Then to compensate the overheating the fans quick in and just stay at max power most of the times
Both those things are quite unsual for a laptop that’s little over a month.

Thanks for reaching out to us on HP Support Forums! I understand the AC adapter is getting overheated.
To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:
Are you using the original charger that came with the PC or are you using alternate charger?
Have you recently made any changes on the PC before the issue started?
In the meantime, let's try these steps here:
Perform a Hard reset on the notebook:
Many startup errors and other problems can be resolved by decreasing the amount of power stored in hardware components. Decreasing stored power is sometimes referred to as a "Hard Reset". Use the following steps to perform a hard reset on a computer:
- If Windows is open, click Start and then Shutdown.
If Windows is not open and the computer has power, press and hold the power button on the computer until the computer shuts off.
- With the power off, disconnect the power cord from the back of the computer.
- With the power off and the power cord disconnected, press the power button on the computer for 5 seconds. The power light indicator on or near the power button might turn on briefly but then go out.
- Reconnect the power cord and turn on the power.
Next thing, I would suggest here is to update the Bios, on your PC from our HP support website, using this link.
When a laptop power adapter is plugged into a laptop and the laptop is turned on, you will notice the adapter may be warm to the touch. The more the laptop gets used, the warmer the adapter may become. A relatively warm power adapter is normal, especially when the laptop is being used and the battery is being charged.

Could you please respond to this post with the details and with the results of the troubleshooting for further assistance.
Eagerly waiting for your response!

The AC adapter is not overheating, as a matter of fact, it most often stays around room temperature.
The laptop, on the other hand, gets boiling hot so I don't know why or how you thought I was referring to the AC adapter.
It is the original charger and it has been doing this since I can remember. No changes were made before the issue started.
Regarding the random freezing would doing a "hard reset" e updating the bios fix that as well?
HP advertises this as their top of the range laptop so it surely should not have all these issues.
Thanks,
Alex Souza.
