spectre x360 15-df0001tx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi

I have the HP Spectre X360 15-DF0001TX - https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c06179855

It has dual thunderbolt 3 ports that support power delivery. It also has a single AC power adapter port which according to the link is 135W. I purchased this laptop used/refurbished (not from HP) and it came with a 65Watt Type-C charger.

The 135 watt AC adapter is no longer sold on HP Australia store. They stock a 150W and 200W. Are these compatible?

I do find it strange USB-C is 65W versus a 135W AC ? Though HP does seem to only stock 65W USB-C Power Adapters.

Can I use Apple or other non-HP power adapters? And can they be higher than 65W?

Apple has a 96W USB-C Charger. I like Apple because they don't have the middle brick that HP chargers have with their USB-C Power Adapters.

Thanks for your support!

HP supplies 2 AC Adapters (Chargers) for the series depending on the video card.

  • 135-W HP Smart AC adapter (PFC, RC, slim, 4.5-mm) part # L15534-001
  • 90-W HP Smart AC adapter (PFC, RA, 4.5-mm) part # 937532-850

Your machine has NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1050 Ti (4 GB GDDR5 dedicated) therefore it has 135W charger. Do you have part # of the USB-C charger, it could be the following one ?

65W USB-C charger should be able to charge your machine but very slow depending on the workload. HP has the following one too

Yeah the 135W does not appear in the Australia Store, do I need to contact HP directly for a special order?

The 65W USB-C Charger I have is:

HP Part NO : L30757-002

Replace with HP Spare : L32392-001

Model Number : TPN-CA06

So I don't need the 135W if I am using the GTX 1050 Ti? It just helps maintain charge?

So I can use a higher wattage USB-C charger? And does it have to be HP?
