hp won't shut down

please guys i really need your help few days go this problem statred , when i shut down my tablet laptop in laptop mode through the shut down usual command from start menu, it shows that it has shut down but it doesn't so if the keybard lid is on it will stay on till the morning and whether i use the lid or not the device won't shut down anyway and it will consume the charge as if it was turned on,after that i have to turn it off manually and this is the only way.  i tried updating the bios but it failed to update and i don't know why, i tried to hold the power button for like 20 seconds and then starting the device and the same problem stays, i rally need your help guys
