I bought this HP Zbook workstation from a person, its refurbished. It works fine, very fast but it has this one big issue everytime it goes to sleep mode while on battery(charger isn't plugged), the power completely dies out. Theres no display, no lights, no sound of the fans, when I push the power button nothing happens. Just completely devoid of any signs of power. Whenever this happens I have to perform a hard restart. I take out the battery then hold the power button for a few seconds to drain then put back the battery in, only then it will boot again. This problem doenst occur when plugged in and I also bouhgt a new battery but the problem still occurs. Im thinking its a hardware problem, maybe motherboard or cmos. But maybe you guys know?

I have the same problem, possibly worse, with a new Z Book. I don't have to remove the battery, instead I disconnect the power and every peripheral and then press the power button for at least 20 seconds. Afterwards (so far) the laptop starts and then I reconnect everything.
