Victus by HP Gaming Laptop 16-s0xxx

HP Gaming Laptop 16-s0xxx model Victus'a sahip olun.

HP Gaming Laptop 16-s0xxx model Victus. There is no lag or stutter in "The Last of Us Part II" relations; However, when the CPU temperature reaches about 80°C, the screen starts to scatter and intermittently turn black. This problem continues throughout the game. If I insist on continuing to play, the laptop eventually shuts down by itself.

This problem is not limited to the game; similar screen changes and automatic shutdowns also occur in other games. This is due to a hardware problem. I request you to fully investigate and extend the warranty.

Hi @Abdurrahim271

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query in English! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I hear you—this issue is frustrating, especially when it affects multiple games and leads to shutdowns. Based on similar reports, HP Victus 16 laptops can experience overheating problems, particularly when CPU temperatures reach 80°C or higher

Here are some steps that might help:

1. Clean the Vents & Inspect the Fans

  • Dust buildup can obstruct airflow, causing overheating.
  • Turn off the laptop and disconnect the power cord.
  • Use compressed air to clean the vents.

2. Adjust Power Settings

  • Open Control PanelPower Options.
  • Select Balanced or Power Saver mode.
  • Reduce Maximum Processor State to 99% to disable Turbo Boost.

3. Update BIOS & Drivers

4. Use a Cooling Pad

  • A high-RPM cooling pad can help maintain lower temperatures.

If the issue persists, thermal repasting or fan replacement might be necessary. Let me know if you need further clarification! 😊

Hello, unfortunately, nothing has improved. However, I noticed something new: when the laptop is not plugged in, I don't experience any issues. I can even play the most demanding games without any problems. But as soon as I plug it in, the shutdown and restart issues start happening again. Thank you for everything

Hi @Abdurrahim271

Thanks for getting back to us.

That’s an interesting discovery—it suggests the issue is related to power delivery rather than general system performance. Since your laptop works fine on battery but shuts down when plugged in, here are a few things to check:

Possible Causes & Fixes

Faulty Charger or Power Adapter

  • Try using a different charger (preferably an official one) to see if the issue persists.
  • If the charger is delivering inconsistent voltage, it could trigger shutdowns.

Power Settings & Battery Drivers

  • Open Device Manager > Batteries > Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery.
  • Right-click and select Uninstall, then restart your laptop to reinstall the driver.

BIOS Settings & Updates

  • Some laptops have power management settings in the BIOS that affect charging behavior.
  • Check for a BIOS update from your laptop manufacturer.

Overheating & CPU Power Management

  • When plugged in, your laptop may run at full performance, causing overheating.
  • Try adjusting the power plan to Balanced instead of High Performance.

System File Corruption Check

  • Run SFC and DISM scans to check for corrupted system files:
    sfc /scannow
    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
  • Open Command Prompt as Administrator and enter these commands.

Let me know if any of these steps help! If the issue persists, it might be worth testing with a new battery or checking for motherboard power regulation issues.
