Hi @Nomi4,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
A fan error on your HP laptop usually indicates an issue with the cooling fan. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially fix the problem.
- Restart your laptop: Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve temporary issues. Shut down your laptop, wait a few seconds, and then turn it back on.
- Check for dust and debris: Over time, dust and debris can accumulate inside your laptop and obstruct the fan's operation. Turn off your laptop, unplug it, and remove the battery (if possible). Use compressed air to carefully blow out any dust and debris from the vents and fan area. Be gentle to avoid damaging any components.
- Update BIOS and drivers: Ensure that your laptop's BIOS and drivers are up to date. Sometimes, outdated software can cause hardware errors.
- Check the fan: If you're comfortable doing so, open up your laptop to access the fan. Ensure that it spins freely and that there are no visible signs of damage. If the fan is not working properly, it may need to be replaced.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
