i wanted to upgrade my laptop compaq pressario v3000 to make it usable in our daily life so and use it form normal web browsing so i already added a stick of 2gb ram and it was a boost of power now i have to somehow upgrade the cpu to make it more powerful so i wanted to know the cpu supporting to upgrade it

Hi:

 

I do not believe that there would be any worthwhile processor upgrades you can do.

 

The processor upgrade info in chapter 1 of the service manual only pertains to the notebooks with the Intel GM965 chipset and if your notebook only has the Celeron M440, I am pretty sure it has a different chipset.

Run the free utility that I zipped up and attached below and let me know what model Intel chipset your notebook has.

 

I'm thinking the best processor you can upgrade to would be the Celeron M 450.
