Hi @Airheez,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd like to help!
If the webcam shutter key on your HP Spectre x360 16 isn't functioning properly, there are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:
Restart the Laptop: Sometimes, a simple restart can fix minor issues. Turn off your laptop, wait a few moments, and then turn it back on.
Update Drivers: Ensure that your laptop's drivers, especially those related to the webcam and function keys, are up-to-date. Visit the HP support website, enter your laptop model, and download/install any available updates for drivers or the BIOS.
Check Settings: Go into your laptop's settings and find the settings related to the webcam or camera. Ensure that the shutter control is enabled and configured properly.
Function Key Lock: Some laptops have a function key lock that can disable certain function keys. Check if there's a function key lock activated that might be affecting the webcam shutter key.
HP Support Assistant: HP often provides a tool called HP Support Assistant that can help diagnose and fix various issues. Run the Support Assistant to see if it identifies any problems with the webcam or function keys.
Reset BIOS/UEFI Settings: Sometimes, resetting the BIOS/UEFI settings to default can resolve hardware-related issues. This should be done cautiously and preferably with guidance if you're not familiar with the process.
If none of the above steps work, it's possible there might be a hardware issue with the webcam shutter key. In such cases, contacting HP Support for further assistance or potentially arranging a repair might be necessary, especially if your laptop is under warranty.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
