My wbcam is not working after change of Hard Drive. Hence i uninstalled the webcam driver. i need the -HP Webcam 101s Driver On HP G 42 Laptop. Please help me to get it.

May I know the procedure you followed to install Windows 10 after replacing the HDD?

Based on the product details shared by you, the computer was shipped with Windows 7 and drivers for Windows 8 or 10 is not available for your computer on our website. Click here. 

Request you run HP Support Assistant to get the best drivers for your computer automatically. Click here for assistance in using HPSA.

If HPSA fails to provide a webcam driver, you would need to rely on Windows updates from Microsoft go get a generic webcam driver.

Thanks for the reply, please make sure all the Windows updates are installed and hope it provides a generic driver for the Webcam. 

Else, please install Windows 7 using the recovery kit created on the computer. If you do not have a recovery kit, please contact our phone support to order a copy of the recovery kit if you have not created one.

You are right that the HP G42-457TU Notebook PC was shipped with Windows 7. I used it very well for five hand half years. Last year i upgrade to Windows 10 Home Basic 64 bits  by MS free upgrade. During the upgrade i made a DVD of ISO files by using the MS software for the same.

My original 320 GB HDD of WD got too many bad sectors and it hanged and did not respond any key to open the windows.  By help of professional i recovered all my data and replace the HDD with one 500GB HDDD of WD but my recovery CD for Windows 7 for the laptop didn't work as it may be corrupted. Then i use the Window 10 ISO file DVD and installed the genuine windows 10.  It connected automatically to MS server and updated. I downloaded the entire driver in HP site by the product HP G42-457TU Notebook PC, except the webcam driver.  i installed the YouCam also but it shown the webcam is not ploughed in. i again opened  the laptop and found the camera cable well connected. 

i have also gone through the HP Support Assistant and install it, but it not able to dictated the problem nor diver.

i have also updated the Windows 10 by online. Again am also making update the windows......

 Still yet the Webcam drivers not find.

I am not a computer professional, am a legal person with interest in computer.

Thanks for the reply, let's hope Windows update detects and installs a generic driver for the webcam. If not, you can get an external webcam or install Windows 7 on your computer and use the webcam. 

You can also refer to this HP Article for other troubleshooting steps for the webcam.

Yes, you are right. the HP Webcam 101 Driver  downloaded autometically. But sorry to say after download the the same problem is goin on it shows " web cam cable not connected". Camera is ok and connected but the windows 10 is not supporting to that generic driver.
