Hi:
Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook.
HP 15 Laptop PC Maintenance and Service Guide
Chapter 1 has the supported drive types.
Your notebook's M.2 slot supports both NVMe and SATA SSD's.
NVMe SSD's have faster read/write speeds than SATA SSD's have.

You're very welcome.
Yes, I am certain the model series supports NVMe SSD's.
Your notebook's M.2 slot is PCIe Gen 3.
This is taken right from chapter 1, page 2 & 3 of the manual:
PCIe, NVMe, M.2 solid-state drives (Intel Core processors):
512 GB
256 GB
Dual storage Configurations (Intel Core processors):
256 GB, PCIe, solid-state drive + 1 TB, 5400 rpm hard drive
256 GB, SATA-3, TLC, solid-state drive + 1 TB, 5400 rpm hard drive
128 GB, SATA-3, TLC, solid-state drive + 1 TB, 5400 rpm hard drive
PCIe = NVMe
I recommend the Western Digital Blue SN570 NVMe SSD in a storage capacity that meets your needs and budget.
This is the 500 GB model, for example.
