Hi @ViYan

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Yes, it's normal for modern CPUs like the Intel i7-1355U to briefly spike to high temperatures (90–100°C) during demanding tasks or when launching programs.

This happens because the CPU uses its "Turbo Boost" feature to maximize performance for short bursts.

However, the temperature should quickly return to normal levels once the task is completed.

Here are some tips to ensure your laptop stays within safe operating limits:

Optimize Power Settings:

  • Go to "Control Panel" > "Power Options" and select the "Balanced" power plan to reduce unnecessary performance spikes.

Update Drivers and BIOS:

  • Visit the HP Support website to ensure your laptop has the latest drivers and BIOS updates.

Improve Cooling:

  • Place your laptop on a flat, hard surface to allow proper airflow.
  • Consider using a cooling pad to help dissipate heat.

Clean the Laptop:

  • Dust buildup in the vents can restrict airflow. Use compressed air to clean the vents periodically.

Take care, and have an amazing day!
