are there steps to follow to install a new SSD

also the computer original Operating system was Windows 7 but it got upgrade for free to Windows 10, when installing the new hard drive is the system going to keep the windows 10 or is going back to windows 7

thanks in advance

It will keep the Windows 10 and there is nothing you need to do with the BIOS to enable the SSD. Windows 7 and higher automatically recognizes an SSD and implements TRIM and NCQ. So treat it like a hard drive and install Windows 10 and it will just activate for you.
