so my machine comes without NFC hardware, i went to the HP Parts Store and ordered NFC Module (821666-001)
i fit it myself ( i am a technician myself and this is easy job for me) everything fit nice turn on the machine but no new device appeared in Device manager
things i have tried so far
1- restore Bios settings to factory default including security settings, TPM, etc.
2- update bios to latest version, i am on v1.22 date 12-12-2017
3- Reinstall windows 10 fresh
4- tried another NFC module from another working machine that i have, and confirmed the new NFC set i ordered is working on the other machine including all Flex cables etc
the question here, is there an activation or special jumper i have to apply on the non-equipped NFC mother board?
keep in mind i previously had to reset this machine Bios by SMC.bin i request through HP support earlier before i installed the NFC module because i forgot the bios password, could be that the reason the Bios is messed up somehow?
expert opinion is required here
Thank you in advanced

since i have another machine with working NFC module (same model but with i5 CPU) i done some test and research
i went to Bios setup > Advanced > Built-in Device option
and I compared the working machine (A) with the non-working one (B)
- (A) machine have the NFC box to turn on the NFC module
- (B) machine doesn’t have this box
I also tried to copy settings through (replicate settings) menu from the working machine and restore it to the non-working machine restored setting ok but NFC Box still not there
- on the (A) machine NFC Box still available in Bios even i removed the module completely
- I booted up the machine with removed NFC and it's still show up in windows device manager (NXP proximity nearfield device) but with yellow question mark
My personal conclusion is
Either special activation to bios have to be applied or something hardware on the mother board have to be applied e.g. Jumper

no one want to look into this problem? can someone escalate this case to engineer or refer to someone who can help?
my laptop still under warranty, maybe HP prefer to replace my motherboard instead of fixing it remotely?
HP have to fix this specially the silly bugs I mentioned

HI, I basicaly have the same issue bu with a diffrent laptop
Mine is the Elitebook 755 G3 which does have an NFC chip according to seller and product datasheet (I'm considering opening it to check but i don't think thats the problem).
I'm using Windows 10 PRO OS v1709 (Fairly recent in january 2018) there are no more update available as of now.
I updated the BIOS, now "msinfo" shows : Ver 01.22, 11/12/2017.
I updated NXP's drivers from HP's website.
No option can be enabled in BIOS, apps form windows store shows nothing, no NFC available in "Settings" when i turn on airplane mode, everythig is up to date in the device manager.
In device manager i see "NXP's ProximityBase SmartCard Reader" but it is up to date.
I tried putting diffrent tags on the trackpad and tranfering URL from my phone nothing happens...
I would guess we have the same problem i'll post if i find something i would appreciate if you do it too.
Thank you,

Elitebook 755 G3 and Elitebook 840 G3 both belong to same family ROM (N75)
i am 99% this is Bios issue, no one here want to bother about this issue not even escalate/ redirect to someone who can inspect further
until then i don't expect this to be solved, even though this "NXP's ProximityBase SmartCard Reader" is an old problem, i found many posts on HP forum people reporting similar issue
