Is it possible to put an m.2 ssd in this slot? If so, do you need any adapter?

Hi:

The 15-da0xxx notebooks with the Pentium and Celeron processors do not have M.2 slots that support SSD's.

The slot in your screenshot is for a SATA DVD drive.

I recommend that you replace the 2.5" mechanical hard drive with a 2.5" SATA SSD.

NVMe SSD's are not supported in the notebooks with the Pentium and Celeron processors.

Thanks for the quick response. Tell me, if you know, are there adapters from SATA DVD drive to M.2? I search on the Internet, I can not find a suitable one

You're very welcome.

There aren't any that I know of, and not only that, but many notebooks also have the DVD drive connected to a SATA 2 port, since optical drives run at the SATA 1 (1.5 MBP/S) speed.

If that is the case for the 15-da0xxx notebook model series,

Again, I recommend to get the best experience out of a SSD, replace the 2.5" mechanical drive with a 2.5" SSD.

Volatile storage drives (SSDs) are worse for long-term data storage. So I'm trying to find an option to leave HDD.
If I can’t find a direct adapter, I may have to make one of the two:

Is the connector on my screen SATA 1? Or is there hope that there will be some adequate speed?

I have an "Intel(R) Celeron(R) N4000 CPU @ 1.10GHz, 1101 MHz, 2 Core(s) 2 Logical Processor(s)" CPU, what kind of SSD can I install? (Same motherboard as user07)
