Hi there !
I am thinking about buying HP Pavilion 15-eh3028nf .
Before buying, I'd like to be sure that RAM is upgradable.
I've had opposite answers from HP french customer service concerning the upgrade possibility.
One person told me it was upgradable up to 32 Gb, the seconde one told me memory was soldered on board.
Would someone have a Maintenance and Service guide link to be sure about RAM upgradability ?
Thanks a lot !
Cedric

cedb92, there is no available manual for this model. HP only offers an old one for the 15-eh1xxx Pavilions. Even so, this manual states that the max ram is 16GB, and is NOT soldered. Although soldered RAM is becoming a trend, HP is not really one of the laptop manufacturing companies to follow it (there are some models, but they're still the minority).
HP DOES offer a spec sheet for the current model, and you can take a look at it here: https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/ish_7406157-7406204-16 We again see that the MAX ram is 16GB, and that it is non-accessible/upgradeable. Soldered memory is referred to as ONBOARD on HP documentation, so RAM is not soldered. This is also confirmed by an answer on the HP Shop page by HP Team Grant ("No, the RAM on this HP Pavilion Laptop is not soldered onto the motherboard").
Concerning the maximum RAM these models support, Crucial offers a 64GB kit (2x32GB), so that's about as high as you can go. In fact, Amazon has several upgraded versions of these laptops on its page, with 32GB and 64GB RAM, and with SSDs up to 4TB. If upgrading RAM is the only thing that worries you about these systems, you can go right ahead and order....
Take care!
