I just bought HP Pavilion - 14-ce3065st laptop, with 8GB RAM factory-installed. My question is whether or not I can remove the 8gb RAM stick and replace it with a new 16gb (or 12 gb if 16gb not available). If it is upgradeable to 16gb, can I get it from HP or 3rd-party memory vendor and once installed, will it void my 2-year warranty? Thanks.

Hi,
Max memory for your model is 32GB of DDR4 2666MHz RAM even if service manual mentions 16GB.
There is one slot so you will need to replace the 8GB module with a 16 or 32 GB module. You can insert faster RAM which will run at 2666MHz.
Example:
https://www.crucial.com/compatible-upgrade-for/hp---compaq/pavilion-14-ce3065st#memory
On page 71 of service manual you can see the steps to install the RAM

Upgrading RAM and drives is an accepted practice and will not void warranty as long as you do not break anything in the process,
Hope it helps,
David
