Product: hp pavilion 17 notebook pc
Operating System: Linux

I have hp pavilion 17 notebook pc after installed Linux one of storage has gone I never find it anywhere even in bios a return to Windows and still no second storage so is it possible that I only had one hdd slipped into two? 

where is the specifications for "hp pavilion 17 notebook pc"

You need to use the specific model number of the laptop in order to find HP specification information.Proving only a series, like "17" is not enough.

 

The laptop has one physical "drive" even though that usually has 2-4 partitions preloaded onto it.  If you reformatted it to install a Linux distro, you likely removed all those partitions in the process -- so there would not be any more "storage" available now.

 

We also do not provide Linux support -- so you will have to contact the support forum for the Linux distro you installed for further assistance.
